After the ball disasters yesterday I went and got some mesh today to keep the balls and dogs out of my patches. Was quite expensive though managed to do a half circle round the circle bed and the back of my rectangle bed and that cost £12. Is it just the first year of "grow your own" that costs money? Im hoping next year not to have to buy compost or canes or netting. Did have a great freebie though a whole roll of clear thick polythene so i can make my own clotches next year. Also most of the seeds I have left (half packets) should see next year as well.
